Rosemary | Spice of the Month - December 2014
About this spice:
Rosemary is an herb that originated in the Mediterranean, and is now used in many other parts of the world. In the 14th century in England, it was even used as Christmas decorations. It is has a piney aroma that adds a unique flavor to a multitude of dishes. Rosemary also has health benefits as many of the spices we feature do. This herb has long been used to improve circulation, help with memory, and aid digestion. At the Marietta Spice Mill, we sell dried rosemary in whole and ground versions.
Rosemary is commonly used in chicken, lamb and pork dishes; however, experimentation can prove that is is delicious in many other ways from potatoes to cookies and other desserts. We have even tried sprinkling it into corn muffin mix, and it is pretty delicious. Looking for a more simple way to integrate Rosemary into your favorite recipes?
